Attention: UMass Boston is planning for most in-person courses and activities to safely return to campus this fall. We are also considering whether some courses should continue to be offered in a remote format to provide flexibility and reduce campus volume. Online programs will proceed as usual. To be informed as plans are finalized for the fall semester, please complete the form above. Updates will be posted at umb.edu/coronavirus.
At this time, applications for all graduate and undergraduate programs and courses are being accepted as usual. If in-person activities need to be adapted to remote learning, you will be notified. We encourage you to request info for email notifications as the situation evolves.
UMass Boston's Gerontology PhD examines the aging process at the individual, family, and community level and the implication of policy on these processes. Our doctoral program is distinctive for its emphasis on the relationship between research, social science, and policy. The program’s approach gives special attention to the needs of low income elderly, as well as to issues of racial and cultural diversity. We have graduated more PhDs than any university in the world.
